A true music artist, Corby is as comfortable strumming a guitar as he is jamming with his harmonica - and often can be found doing both, while also singing. He has been writing songs and delighting audiences of all ages for as long as he can remember.
Throughout high school and college, he was an instrumental part of numerous jam bands, and often performed with his older brother and musical mentor Bill and Master-of-the-Piano sister Sarah. Over the most recent decade, as friends and family members have hosted celebratory events, he has added 'Special Guest Performer' to his portfolio.
In mid-2018, while he and his wife Megs were expecting their first child, Corby played the guitar every night for his son-to-be, firmly believing that the melodies were keeping him entertained in the womb. Megs believes this to be the case as well, as evidenced by the kicks and somersaults when Corby played.
In January 2019, after Jackson was born, Corby continued to play music every morning and night for his son, who he affectionately nicknamed 'Bunchy'. During 'Tunesy Time', as Corby called each of these sessions, the melodies naturally shaped into into catchy, original songs. Over the course of the first few months of Jackson's life, his father continued to write music and perform for his family. As Corby then branched out to play for the children of family and friends as well, he realized how much he enjoyed telling stories and sharing important messages through his music. He recorded his first single and shortly thereafter, a fun-loving and guitar-playing bear came to life that inspired his first collection, Bunchy and the Bear Band collection.
Born and raised in Summit, NJ, Corby graduated from Dartmouth College in 1996 with a BS in Geography, as he was always curious about the world around him. When not tearing up a hockey rink, hitting the links, or sailing down the Jersey shore, Corby was writing music, often carrying around a notepad.
After college, he opened and operated numerous restaurants in New York City, including the famed live music venue Session73, where he often treated his customers to his own live music performances.
Corby has been married since 2017 to his wife, Megs, whom he met in 2012 at Session73. Megs, then a volunteer at the neighboring Ronald McDonald House of New York, met Corby at a fundraising event for the charity hosted at his venue. Both active in their then-Upper East Side community, it was fitting they met on a night where they together raised money for the organization that supports children battling pediatric cancer and their families.
Corby and Megs currently reside in Morristown, NJ with their fun-loving son, Jackson, the inspiration behind the debut 'Bunchy the Bear' music collection. Jackson and his four-legged yellow lab sibling, Gibson, keep their parents on their toes. Luckily, they all enjoy singing and playing music together as an outlet for all of the creative energy in their home!
